Angel Ayuso Sacido

Angel Ayuso-Sacido, a renowned neuroscientist, is the current Scientific Director of Vithas Hospitals, the second-largest private hospital group in Spain, and Managing Director of the Vithas Foundation. He holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and he has worked as a researcher, post-doctoral fellow, and research assistant professor in various prestigious institutions such as Weill Cornell Medical College and the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
Dr. Ayuso-Sacido's research focus is on neuro-oncology, particularly on the molecular mechanisms that drive glioblastoma, the most aggressive and lethal brain tumor. He has authored over 50 scientific publications, directed 11 Doctoral Theses, and participated in more than 24 national and international research projects, mostly as a principal investigator.
Dr. Ayuso-Sacido is also actively involved in science communication and dissemination. He founded the Spanish Glioma Network (REIG) and organized two International Symposia on Clinical and Basic Investigation in Glioblastoma. He is a scientific advisor for several public and private organizations, including ANEP, ISCIII, and AECC.
