Andy McMurry is a highly experienced Bioinformatics expert who has been a key player in various renowned institutions including Harvard University Clinical and Translational Sciences and Children's Hospital Informatics Program at Harvard-MIT HST. With a strong background in Bioinformatics and Computer Science, Andy has worked on multiple projects such as Harvard SHRINE, National Health Information Network prototype, and Pathology Specimen Locator, to name a few. He specializes in areas such as patient data query systems for clinical research, natural language processing, clinical NLP deep learning, PubMed scale indexing, and more.
With a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and a Master of Science (MS) in Bioinformatics from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Northeastern University, Andy has also co-founded and served as Chief Science Officer at Medal, a healthcare software company. Additionally, he has served as the BioMed team lead at InVitae, Informatics Team Lead and Architect at Harvard University Clinical and Translational Sciences, and Technical Lead, Pathology Specimens at Harvard Medical School, Pathology.
