    Dr. Andrew Garrett is a highly experienced physician, emergency manager, public health specialist, and educator with extensive background in public service, academia, and disaster response.

    He has held key leadership roles in various organizations, including the federal government, where he served as Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Director of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS).

    Dr. Garrett has over twenty years of on-the-ground experience in disaster response, having been involved in significant events like Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti Earthquake, CoVID-19, and various other emergencies.

    Transitioning to academia in 2018, he currently serves as an Associate Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, overseeing programs in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Global Leadership in Disaster Response.

    In addition to academic responsibilities, Dr. Garrett continues to contribute to disaster response efforts, working with organizations like NDMS and the HHS/ASPR Incident Management Team as a medical officer.

    His educational background includes an MD from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, an MPH in Emergency Preparedness, and various other qualifications in EMS, pediatrics, and disaster medicine.

    Dr. Garrett is also board certified in EMS and Pediatrics, holds an MPH, and works as a field physician with GW University's Event Medicine Team.

    His vast experience and expertise make him a valuable asset in the fields of emergency medicine, disaster response, public health, and global health security.
