Andrew Burroughs is an accomplished and versatile design engineer with a passion for innovation and creative culture. With over 30 years of experience, Andrew has specialized in the healthcare field, designing drug delivery devices, surgical tools, and a kidney transporter, among other things. He is an expert practitioner of Design Thinking for new product and service development, and a proven innovator with a track record of in-market solutions. Andrew is a passionate and hands-on leader of fast-paced, cross-functional teams. He is a visual thinker known for non-obvious intuitive leaps and sense of humor.
Andrew led IDEO's Chicago office from 2004 to 2011, driving design strategy and building a strong creative culture. He has also published a book, "Everyday Engineering - What Engineers See", which gives a glimpse of the world through the eyes of an engineer. Andrew focuses on the energy industry, efficiency, consumption, and human behavior, with a particular focus on the design of medical and consumer products.
