Andrea Michalek
Andrea Michalek is a tech executive with an impressive background in developing software, leading technology and product teams, and launching successful companies. With more than 25 years of industry experience, Michalek is a proven leader with demonstrated expertise in search and discovery, data mining, analytics, and natural language processing. She is also passionate about marrying new and innovative technologies with opportunities for rapid commercial growth.
Michalek co-founded Plum Analytics, a startup that was later acquired by EBSCO and Elsevier, where she served as VP of Research Metrics in product management. She worked as a cross-functional leader to modernize measurements of research impact across Elsevier's research product tools and scholarly publishing platforms. She is currently an executive coach and fractional CTO/CPO, where she helps startups and scale-ups launch new products and improve their leadership skills.
Michalek holds a BS in Computational Biology from Carnegie Mellon University and an MS in Computer Science from Villanova University. She is a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship, product management, metrics, and women in tech.
