He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Joseph's College, Trichy, at the University of Madras. He also studied Company Secretary at The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Cost & Management Accountant at Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Master of Business Administration at The University of Texas at Arlington - College of Business, and Chartered Accountant at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, which contributed to his extensive knowledge and skills.

Anbu Gounder worked at various organizations, including MinkasuPay, Dapper (Yahoo!), Efficient Frontier (Adobe), XPFLOW Software, Upwork.com (previously Elance.com), and Junglee/Amazon.com. He co-founded and served as CEO of MinkasuPay, a payment technology company. In addition, he held executive financial positions such as SVP, Finance & CFO; VP, Finance & Administration; Co-Founder & CFO; and Director of Finance for various high-tech companies.
