The University of Pennsylvania Adult ADHD Treatment and Research Program provides comprehensive diagnostic assessment, consultation, specialized treatment,
recommendations, and treatment services, in addition to conducting clinical research,
community outreach, professional training, and education. Comprehensive ADHD evaluations include screening measures for cognitive abilities, self-reported psychological and medical
problems, ADHD symptoms, and comorbidities. Treatment services include pharmacotherapy  and psychosocial interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, executive skills training, coping skills, and emotional regulation strategies.

Worked as a behavioral health consultant alongside physicians in the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, affiliated with the Family Medicine Center, an integrated medical setting providing consultations within exam rooms, brief psychotherapy, and facilitating access to external and in-network referrals.

The Center for Brief Therapy at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) is an 
outpatient setting that provides comprehensive clinical services, including treatment, 
consultation, and assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. The short-term treatment 
model specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy addressing an array of psychosocial, 
emotional, and behavioral problems and difficulties accompanying medical 
conditions. The Center also provides psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations to 
individuals throughout all developmental stages. In addition, the Center offers high-quality, inclusive, 
accessible, and affordable mental and behavioral health services while emphasizing cultural 
sensitivity and evidence-based practices in collaboration with PCOM Health Care Centers.

Recruited over 20 pregnant women from the Paley OBGYN clinic and Levy Women’s Health clinic by administering questionnaires using REDCap. Depending on their scores, they were either included or excluded from the Web-based Interactive Program to Prevent Post-Partum Depression in High-Risk Women study. Scheduled appointments with the women who met all inclusion criteria. This included: one-on-one audiotaped educational sessions where they watched a video that explained the symptoms of post-partum depression, coping skills, and tips on how to manage stress post-labor. After the video, I handed each participant post-video questions and follow-up exercises. At the end of the first session, the women received resources with contact information and adaptive coping strategies.

Screen patients through a centralized system – AECIS – to assess their eligibility for multiple, varied clinical and prospective research studies. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, electro-physiologists, microbiologists, etc. to confirm patients’ clinical condition to approach and successfully enroll patients in suitable research studies and minimize any potential risks. Obtain blood specimens and assist in making chemical analyses of tissues and bodily fluids. Attend and participate in mock training workshops. Update computer databases and perform statistical calculations on data collected.

Reviewed and assessed the incoming patients' medical chart to highlight and report to the physician any current health issues and/ abnormalities. Shadowed Dr. Gomez and maximized the time he had during patient visits by taking care of other patients presenting external injuries by thoroughly cleaning and bandaging any manifested wounds to avoid infection. Explained proper medication handling, application, and/ usage to patients.

Physician Assistant

Visited patients, ages 18-25, admitted to the E.R. between the hours of 7pm - 2am. Introduced the research study focused on adolescent alcohol and drug abuse. Distributed and collected signed consent forms from patients before conducting the interview. Assessed conclusive questionnaire scores of each patient to validate their participation in future therapeutic studies, and made personal notes according to their behavior, pre and post, asking relevant questions. Organized and returned important documentations to the University of Miami Psychology Research Department.

Research Assistant

Visited rural areas of Costa Rica and Nicaragua to provide free health care services to impoverished communities. Collected patients' history, took vital signs, administered vaccinations, and observed pap-smears. Discussed differential diagnoses with supervising physicians and addressed any patients' questions or concerns.

Vida Volunteer

Medical Assistant

Collected blood samples taken from clinical trial participants. Categorized and labeled the blood samples as either BRCA1 or BRCA2 breast cancer mutations. Fractioned whole blood samples through the centrifuge and sent the resultant plasma out to the lab for further testing.
