An Tran's previous roles include serving as an owner's engineer, substation design engineer, transmission line design engineer, and regulatory compliance engineer, showcasing his diverse skill set and expertise in various aspects of the power industry.

An holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside, and has a strong academic foundation from Troy High School.

Currently working as an Engineer in Grid Policy and Strategy at Southern California Edison (SCE), An has previously held positions as a Transmission Line Engineer and Substation Engineer at Stantec, along with an internship at the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
