Amos Mac

Amos Mac is an accomplished writer and visual artist with a passion for exploring outsider identity, community, and chosen family through a marginalized lens. As an out queer transgender man, Amos is uniquely qualified to delve into the experiences of gender-diverse individuals in his work for film and television. Born in the Deep South and raised in Philadelphia, Amos has carried his free-spirited style and open-minded approach with him throughout his career. Holding a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Media Studies from The New School, Amos has worked on various successful projects, including Amazon's TRANSPARENT and Joey Soloway's untitled series for AMAZON. He has also written for FACEBOOK WATCH/NEW FORM's 365 DAYS OF LOVE series and GAYCATION for VICELAND. Amos is currently a Story Editor for Gossip Girl (HBO Max) and recently co-wrote a hybrid documentary feature called NO ORDINARY MAN about the life of transgender jazz musician, Billy Tipton. Amos is also the founding editor, publisher, and photographer of ORIGINAL PLUMBING, the first print magazine in America dedicated to trans guy culture. His work as a writer and visual artist has been featured in galleries and museum collections worldwide. Amos was a 2018 Lambda Literary Writer's Retreat Fellow for YA fiction and has been recognized on the OUT 100 and the TRANS 100 lists. He was also featured in the HBO documentary The Trans List.
