• Strategy consulting: Analyzed financial information and advised executives on strategic direction, incorporating financial analysis, client interviews, and employee surveys. Facilitated workshops to enable the creation and evaluation of business cases. Clients were able to go from no strategy to a fully articulated 5-year strategy with actions to progress.

• General management consulting: Advised businesses on project management, communications, market research, revenue forecasts, accounts receivable, offsites, Board of Directors presentations, and business plans. Corporate Strategy and Planning Advisor

• Managed subsurface team (engineers, geologists, and geophysicist) to develop two offshore gas fields in Latin America (one on production, one in exploration / appraisal)

• Managed the field development plan for a 5+ Tcf gas field, which was successfully submitted to two Latin American governments for approval

• Ran and quality checked financial forecasts, which included complicated lease terms (e.g., international borders with reserves-dependent fiscal terms)

• Managed reserves process for corporate bookings and internal audits; passed internal audit with no issues

Subsurface Team Lead, Latin America Business Unit

• Managed project portfolio of development in Kern River, the third largest oilfield in California (onshore heavy oil steamflood)

• Led a team who facilitated $100 million of capital projects from ideation to execution; drove value-based decision making in the team, leading to $28 million additional NPV

• Managed reserves process; created a succession plan and coached team members through their first reserves process; encouraged a streamline of the process and was recognized for this as a Best Practice; completed successful internal and third-party audits of reserves; numbers came within 2% of third-party audit

• Managed several cross-functional efforts, which increased efficiencies / decreased disconnects between groups

• Drove innovation in technical and process areas, including a) a new subsurface depositional and conceptual model, b) new tools, reducing inputs required by half, and c) elimination of whole process steps

• Drove tighter project cost controls, uncovering $20 million in financial changes

Subsurface Team Lead, San Joaquin Valley Business Unit

• Managed an annual capital allocation process ($8-12 billion capital per year) in collaboration with management and staff from six business units; designed & implemented changes to the process to incorporate portfolio thinking (using TIBCO Spotfire for data analysis) and increased transparency between business unit management

• Managed appropriation requests as the subject matter expert (SME) for all North America major capital projects (classified as projects >$50 million) for C-suite approvals; advised on appropriate governance; edited and quality checked same for financial coherence, business case sense, technical soundness, and English grammar; praised as the only region with no additional questions from C-suite executives

• Managed small capital (<$50 million) post-project review process ($4-6 billion capital spend per year); designed and implemented changes to the process to streamline the consolidation and reporting; received an award after changes were incorporated at the Global Upstream level (worldwide); business unit feedback was also positive since the changes enabled better data analysis

• Aided in construction of the North America business plan as the production and reserves subject matter expert (SME)

• Developed tool in Microsoft Sharepoint for personnel to track their own safety training; departmental Sharepoint site administrator

North America Strategic Planning Analyst

• Facilitated cross-functional technical issue resolution for the Tengiz Future Growth Project ($30+ billion expansion project) during pre-FEED (Front End Engineering and Design)

• Worked closely with Project Manager, Decision Analyst, and Finance Group to obtain FEED approvals from Chevron executives and joint venture partners, including the Kazakhstani national oil company; suggested messaging, edited presentations and documents, and provided feedback on financial models

• Clarified frame, decisions, metrics for funding alternatives for the Future Growth Project

Interface Engineer, Tengiz

• Prepared a comprehensive field development and surveillance plan for a field in the North Sea through coordination between key stakeholders (onshore and offshore asset team members; health, environment, and safety; management)

• Coordinated the three-year business plan (oil, gas, and water production; capital expenditures; operating expenditures; health, environment, and safety metrics) and obtained approval of four international joint venture partners and internal management

• Forecasted production rates for horizontal well decisions using reservoir simulation models (Eclipse), nodal analysis, analogy studies, and Monte Carlo spreadsheets; used segmented well options for multilateral wells; used Design of Experiments to optimize; succeeded in moving projects through management phases

• Built simple economic models to display the financial benefits of well work for the business plan; models compared well with more complex models delivered by others

• Provided reservoir engineering support for capital expenditures and operational decisions (4d seismic acquisition, power generation, drilling schedule, water injection, etc.)

Reservoir Engineer, Chevron Upstream Europe

• Forecasted production rates (deterministic and probabilistic) for appraisal and exploration decisions (platform and facility decisions, number of wells and locations, water injection) for fields in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico using reservoir simulation models, nodal analysis, analogy studies, and Monte Carlo spreadsheets

• Worked closely with geologists, geophysicists, drilling staff, and facilities engineers to build and test development plans

• Provided forecasts to support the recommendation to drill an additional appraisal well and the recommendation to shoot a new wide azimuth (WAz) seismic survey to support future 4d seismic surveys

• Developed procedures with vendor and drilling engineer input and planned pressure tests and samples using the Modular formation Dynamics Tester (MDT) under Tough Logging Conditions (TLC) and Pressure While Drilling (PWD). Acquired samples at <1% contamination while remaining incident-free (IFO)

• Aided geoscientists and drillers in data acquisition plans (drilling and logging sequence, incl. MDT and core acquisition)

• Presented findings and recommendations to partners and internal management to garner buy-in and approval for capital outlays; all recommendations were approved by internal management and partners

• Managed fluid and core study projects, including pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) studies, routine core analysis, and special core analysis (SCAL)

• Estimated recoverable volumes for the reserves and resource booking process

Reservoir Engineer - Exploration and Appraisal, Deepwater Business Unit

• Developed production and economic cash flow forecasts and procedures for four Deepwater fields in the Gulf of Mexico, including a $4+ billion project (water injection)

• Collaborated with field, office, and contract personnel to optimize wells and mitigate risk

• Built reservoir simulation models (aid in geologic construction, history match, and forecast) for use in production forecasts, well evaluations, and resource analyses

• Evaluated locations for producers and water injectors; obtained approval for several multi-million dollar wells

• Analyzed and reviewed all Genesis proved records; documented for third-party audit; auditor’s estimate came within 2% of booked reserves

• Managed 4d seismic acquisition project through final investment decision (FID); quantified benefits of better reservoir management in a Deepwater waterflood through use of reservoir simulation and associated value of information (VOI) economics to justify seismic purchase

• Analyzed prospective and new wells coming online using pressure transient analysis (PTA) and nodal analysis to determine minimum thickness to complete, skin, and permeability to aid in completion decisions, choke decisions, acid decisions, etc.

Reservoir, Simulation, and Production Engineer; Gulf of Mexico Business Unit

• Optimized well performance and mitigated risk for all wells on an offshore Gulf of Mexico Deepwater asset; spent >45 days offshore voluntarily to learn production, drilling, and completion operations

• Worked closely with a multi-disciplinary team of field personnel, geologists, and engineers to maximize revenue and minimize cost for the field

• Coordinated and supervised all non-rig well work, including through-tubing plug backs, well flowbacks, bottomhole pressure surveys, wireline work, production logs, coiled tubing operations, oil PVT studies, water analyses, salt washes, equipment inventory, etc.; ensured good communication with offshore personnel to maximize cash flow and production

• Performed nodal analysis and pressure transient analysis (PTA) to estimate average reservoir pressure, skin, kh, PI, etc.

• Forecasted oil and gas production for the 3-year business plan

•Reservoir simulation: history matched and ran predictions using proprietary simulation model (ChEARS) using Unix

• Collaborated with reservoir engineer to generate Monte Carlo simulation well and well group P10-50-90 forecasts which included simulation results, analogies, and decline curve analysis; results were rolled up into full field P10-50-90 forecasts
