Amith Prabhu is a highly accomplished professional with nearly 15 years of experience in communication management, public relations, and corporate advisory. Beginning his career as a budding student entrepreneur with Minerva Edutainment and then expanding his horizons at the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Amith quickly garnered a wealth of experience in various prestigious firms. With significant tenures at Genesis Burson-Marsteller, APCO Worldwide, Starcom MediaVest Group (VivaKi), and Edelman Public Relations in Chicago, Amith has developed an impressive portfolio that includes crisis communications, brand positioning, strategic messaging, and mentoring.
His journey into the political communication field began early, as he was recognized for being the first-ever student summer intern for India’s oldest political party in 2003. This groundwork laid the foundation for a career that intertwines his passion for politics and communications. Amith's extensive travels around the globe have enriched his perspective and have fostered a unique approach to his work, enabling him to bridge various sectors effectively.
Currently, Amith is at the forefront of establishing India’s first independent strategic communications school, the School of Communications & Reputation (SCoRE), where he serves as the Founding Dean. His previous roles as a Director at February Networks and as a Principal at Zero Hour Strategies exemplify his commitment to advancing the field of communications while nurturing the next generation of professionals.
Education and Achievements
Amith Prabhu’s solid educational foundation has contributed significantly to his success. He began his journey at St Aloysius in Mangalore, where he completed his foundational education. He moved on to SDM Law College within Mangalore University to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Academic Law. His thirst for knowledge led him to acquire a Master’s degree in Communication Management from the prestigious Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication in Pune, with a specialization in Public Relations.
Further enhancing his skillset, Amith completed a Professional Development Program in Marketing Strategy at Harvard University. This combination of legal knowledge and communication expertise has uniquely positioned Amith to excel in diverse sectors, including FMCG, retail, media, government, and politics.
Notably, in 2014, Amith was honored as the PR Professional of the Year by exchange4media, an accolade that acknowledges his contributions to public relations in India.
