    Amira Firdaus is the Deputy Director for Professional Development & Innovation at University of Malaya's Academic Enhancement and Leadership Development Centre (ADeC). She previously headed the Leadership & Wellbeing (LeadWell) unit, focusing on holistic training for academic staff.

    Amira oversees professional development and training for academic staff at UM, actively contributing to the transition to online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. She conducts training webinars and workshops on remote teaching, personal growth, and wellbeing.

    In addition to her role at ADeC, Amira is part of the faculty at UM's Department of Media and Communication Studies, where she supervises research, teaches courses in media and communication, and mentors students on academic and personal matters.

    Amira is dedicated to lifelong learning in Positive Psychology, with a focus on Gratitude, Character Strengths, and Mindfulness. She actively engages with local and international social networks related to ADHD/ADD communities and practices positive communication to empower individuals.

    Amira holds a PhD in Global Communication from the University of Melbourne and is a certified Virtual LearnCaster (VLC), specializing in online teaching and training.

    Her educational background includes studies at University of Melbourne, National University of Malaysia, and University of Malaya, along with additional education at Ralph Bunche School, Prep for Prep, and Trinity School in NYC.

    Throughout her career, she has held various prominent roles at Universiti Malaya and University of Melbourne, including Senior Lecturer, Editor, Presenter, and Head of different leadership and scholarly development units.
