Amir Aharoni

Amir Aharoni is a multilingual linguist, software developer, and digital activist from Israel. He is a Ph.D. candidate in language technologies at Carnegie Mellon University and holds a Master's degree in computational linguistics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Amir is a fierce advocate of the use of technology as a tool for breaking down language barriers, promoting digital inclusion, and creating a more accessible and equitable world.

Amir's passion for languages and technology has led him to work on several groundbreaking projects throughout his career. He has designed and developed several multilingual websites, tools, and applications, including the Universal Fonts project, which aims to provide a more accessible writing system for minority languages. He has also contributed to several open-source software projects, including MediaWiki, the software that powers Wikipedia, and several language-related tools.

In his free time, Amir enjoys studying foreign languages, cooking, and hiking in the beautiful Israeli wilderness.
