Amina El-Ashry

Amina El-Ashry is a Design Researcher at IBM, currently working on executive strategic projects and new product initiatives for the IBM Software organization.3 She has a background in Human-Centered Computing from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and is based in the Washington DC-Baltimore Area.2
Amina has been recognized for her work in user experience research. In 2022, she received the Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher award and was praised for her contributions as a user experience researcher for the Red Hat Marketplace offering at IBM.4 More recently, in September 2023, Amina and her team were awarded IBM's Quarterly Entrepreneur Award for IBM Software's Business Unit.5
Her research focuses on how knowledge workers use and want to use Large Language Models (LLMs) in an enterprise context. She co-authored a study exploring the adoption of LLMs for work, which provides insights into how these models can best support knowledge workers.1
