Amelia Salmon

Amelia Salmon is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in community development practice, focusing on community economic development. She has been involved in various social enterprises such as the Big Issue, Mu’ooz Restaurant, and Just Earth. As the co-founder of SPIRAL Community Hub and Qld Social Enterprise Council, Amelia has driven the growth of numerous successful social enterprises. With a unique skill set combining business development expertise and a social justice framework, she excels in strategic planning, organizational development, marketing, financial management, and product development.

Amelia's commitment to training and employment pathways for individuals who may have missed out on formal education is evident in her work with QSEC and SPIRAL. Through her advocacy efforts and collaborative partnerships, she has championed for an enabling environment for the social enterprise sector. She is a fellow at the School for Social Entrepreneurs, holds various board roles, and is a member of the Institute of Company Directors.

Her educational background includes a Masters degree in Local and International Community Development, a Masters in Business Administration with a focus on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Politics. Amelia's professional journey includes roles such as CEO at Just Earth, Chair of Queensland Social Enterprise Council, and Managing Director at SPIRAL Community Hub.
