Retired as PFS Director, Fauquier Health

I am responsible for the daily oversight, management , and direction of all phases of the hospital's accounts receivable operation in order to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections from patients and third party payers.  This includes the direction of the Patient Access, Patient Accounts, and Coding Departments.  I function as a key member of Revenue Cycle leadership to support and execute critical initiatives and maintain compliance standards.

My current responsibilities include administrative management of The Patient Access, Patient Accounts, and HIM departments of Fauquier Hospital.  In this role I am directly responsible for the Revenue Cycle Operations for the hospital, with the exception of Coding. My recent past roles include Director of Payor Relations, which combined management of 
Patient Accounts and Managed Care Contracting for the Health System.

Director of Patient Financial Services

In addition to my other duties as Director of Payor Relations, I was asked to perform as the Interim Director of the health system's employed physician practices.  This involved strategic planning for the department, staffing, budgeting, and responsibility for the Patient Accounting and coding functions for the practices.  I also negotiated the initial managed care contracts for the practices and participated in the initial practice set up, the hiring process of the physicians  and maintenance of their compensation package, and the selection and configuration of the practice management software.

As Director of Patient Accounts, I was responsible for the daily coordination and supervision of all hospital billing and collection activities.  This included all hiring and staff management, strategic planning, ensurance of staff education in compliance and regulatory affairs, management of departmental finances and budget, and effective and responsive relationships with patients, medical staff and other departments.
