Senior Event Coordinator - HBM Conferences

End-to-end project management of CIfA's 2021 annual conference managing the transition from a live event to being a virtual event for the first time. My role incorporated building the project plan, confirming the conference programme, budget management, marketing the conference to member segments, event logistics, delivery and post event evaluation. Held in April 2021, the virtual conference resulted in 33% growth in attendance with hugely positive feedback. 
 
Developing, curating, delivering and evaluating CIfA's programme of webinars and virtual events for members and non-members in line with the strategic plan, such as: CPD seminars, workshops, discussion forums and a week-long virtual 'Innovation Festival' run in October 2021.

Events strategy, conceptual development, planning, promotion and operations for NSW Young Lawyers calendar of major events including: two annual conferences (Mid Year and Annual Assemblies), the 2018 Young Professionals Charity Ball, the 2019 Sydney Law Careers Fair and the 2018 and 2019 Golden Gavel Competitions with almost 800 legal professionals in attendance.

As a contractor for the Cannes Lions Festival 2016, I was the Assistant Awards Manager for the Film award category. This involved responding to a range of queries from advertising and media agencies and providing advice on award categories and requirements for all entries. The role also involved processing and checking all Film Lions entries for compliance with the festival and category rules.

During the festival itself in Cannes, I was responsible for the operational management of preliminary judging for the Film Lions award, jury liaison and clarifying any questions regarding entries or the category. Assisting the Film Awards Manager, I was also able to assist with the operation of the shortlisting and award rounds including being in the jury room when the 2016 Film Grand Prix was decided.

In this position, I was responsible for all sales and marketing activity for the conference centre at Mantra Hervey Bay. This involved quoting and booking new conferences, incorporating accommodation and food and beverage packages, as well as booking and planning weddings and other events hosted at the venue.

The role also involved event planning and management all events hosted at the venue, including the operational management of food and beverage staff during the event. Events hosted at Mantra Hervey Bay included conferences, seminars, weddings and other events such as dinners and festive celebrations.

As the Events and Publicity Manager, this role involved managing all events and promotional activity for Dendy's two Sydney cinema sites at Opera Quays and Newtown.

Event activities included:
Managing cinema hire, functions and large scale events for two Sydney cinema locations – Dendy Newtown & Dendy Opera Quays across 13 screens and 1,300 seats. As well as answering all event enquiries and the planning, execution and management of events. Some of the many events I managed in this position include: corporate, charity and private cinema hires, presentations, film festivals, distributor screenings, product launches, national red carpet film premieres as well as the production of a calendar of promotional events.

Promotional activities included:
Establishing and managing promotional partnerships with corporate, local area, and arts sectors + media outlets to secure ongoing exposure for events, campaigns and selected film titles. I was also responsible for writing and sending press releases, local area marketing and maintaining Dendy Sydney’s Twitter account.
