Amanda Galonek Hellyar, MPA
District Director | MA State Senate
Amanda Hellyar is an experienced special education teacher with a background in public administration and a passion for community building. Her career began with Teach for America in rural South Louisiana, where she served as a special education teacher and later became the Family Facilitator for the educational district. She completed her Master's of Public Administration from Louisiana State University and received an Astrid Merget Award for her role in launching the first-ever early childhood non-profit in her TFA community, the Pointe Coupee Early Childhood Coalition. Amanda returned to Massachusetts in 2016 as a TFA Western MA Alumni Fellow and is currently a special education teacher at Tantasqua Regional High School. In addition to teaching, Amanda has served on district-wide professional development teams and as the founding Model United Nations Club advisor.
