We work with developers in a Constellation Model, which means that we're managing developers and guiding process across a multitude of timezones and an array of working styles. Over the course of my time at Strange Scaffold, the studio has shifted in beautiful ways to accommodate more sophisticated people-centric production processes. I've personally shipped a handful of games while at the studio as consulting producer and lead producer, including Sunshine Shuffle.

In addition to my many years as a fiction writer and game journalist, I completed the Spring 2023 Narrative Department course with Susan O'Connor. I've worked in-engine (Unity, YarnSpinner, Visual Studio) for two games (Pigeon Simulator and an unannounced indie game) and am a fairly competent coder, though I'll need some time to refresh and skill-up to what each studio needs.

My background in computer science, as well as my work as a gameplay feedback consultant and former critic, has lent me sharp design skills that put the player at the center of the action. I collaborate well with anyone and can adapt to productions quickly and easily. I'm always eager to learn more, as well as to mentor and teach along the way.

With well over a decade of expertise reporting on the game industry, I've crafted a reputation for being tough but fair and passionate yet measured.

Over the course of the (nearly) four months that I was at HakJak Studios as their sole producer, I took on the role as both game and studio producer. I built people-centric production processes and pipelines that put the developers first, enabling them to do their best work knowing that their needs were going to be met along the way. 

I developed a robust Notion wiki where we had begun to build not just our documentation wiki, but our in-game wiki that we could pass on to playtesters and QA. I worked closely with each of HakJak's leads to develop processes that were sensitive to the needs of their individual cohorts, keeping in mind working and communication styles.

We were told to hard pivot our design mere weeks after I started in my position, which put me in a unique position to put processes in place a bit more quickly than I'd anticipated. If not for the focused brainstorming sessions, the robust documentation that we all co-developed, and the timeline that the leads and I developed together, the new demo would not have been mere days away from shipping out to stakeholders when our studio was shut down.

I'm very proud of the work I did at HakJak and I wish I could've gotten the game out the door to our players.

Alongside Mike Futter, I managed Robot Teddy's strategic partnerships pillar. This included working with clients as an external producer, managing first-party relationships, navigating platform intricacies, and delivering strategic planning guidance. The partnerships pillar also included Robot Teddy's funds (prototype, VR, and finishing), which is one of my primary areas of responsibility. Working in partnership with our business development and business operations teams, we provided a full suite of strategic and management consulting services.
