Amanda Baughan is a Computer Science PhD student focusing on developing online support for mental health and relationships using evidence-based interventions.
Currently, Amanda is involved in evaluating and enhancing online disagreements by leveraging Natural Language Processing techniques and human-centered design.
Her academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the University of Washington, where she is also currently a Research Assistant.
Prior to this, she graduated with a 3.92 GPA, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami with a focus on Economics and Computer Science.
Amanda also studied Spanish Language and Literature at Universidad de Belgrano.
Her professional experience includes roles such as Research Intern at Google, UX Researcher at Allen Institute for AI (AI2), Operations Coordinator at Google, Teaching Assistant at University of Miami, Android Software Developer at Hurricane Development Studios, and various roles at Google including Internal Analytics and Operations (GPS Ops).
She has also worked as a Business Analyst at Arise Virtual Solutions Inc.
