Alok Mittal
Entrepreneur and Angel Investor
Alok Mittal is a well-known entrepreneur and investor from India. He graduated with a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Delhi, followed by an MS in Management of Technology and Computer Science from UC Berkeley. Alok began his career as a Technical Leader at Aricent and later co-founded JobsAhead (now Monster India) in 1999. JobsAhead became a leading e-recruitment business focused on the Indian market, and was eventually acquired by Monster.com. Alok also co-founded the Indian Angel Network, a forum for making angel investments. He later became Managing Director and Advisor at Canaan Partners, a premier US-based venture capital firm operating in India. In 2015, Alok co-founded Indifi Technologies, a lending platform that provides working capital loans to Indian SMEs.
With extensive experience in entrepreneurship, early-stage investing, and technology investing, Alok is passionate about creating value through startups. He is also interested in entrepreneurship development in India and has organized a venture community blog at www.venturewoods.org.
Highlights
It's a blanket of haze out there. Govt across Delhi, Haryana and adjoining states have been largely apathetic towards this - tons of noise/fingerpointing but very little action. The healthcare costs are tremendous.
