Allison Hinckley, PhD, is a distinguished VC investor specializing in climate tech, industrial decarbonization, advanced materials, and manufacturing. Over the years, she has contributed to innovation in various sectors including climate tech, materials, ag-tech, IoT, and medtech, assuming roles as an individual contributor, product lead, startup mentor, and investor, where she enjoys collaborating with aspiring and insightful entrepreneurs.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Micro- and Nanotechnology Enterprise from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor's degree (S.B.) in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, she completed the Tuck Business Bridge Program at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Allison's technical proficiencies encompass the design and manufacture of electrochemical devices such as batteries, fuel cells, and electrolyzers, microchip design and production, development of biodegradable materials for medtech and agtech applications, soft electronics for wearables and IoT, and chemical manufacturing at a large scale.
Formerly, Allison held the position of Senior Associate at F-Prime Capital and Fine Structure Ventures, and served as Founder & Managing Director at Tangible Tech. She also worked as a Technical Product Lead at a Stealth Mode ClimateTech Startup, Doctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University in the Department of Chemical Engineering, and Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge in the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy. Prior to these roles, she gained experience as a Process Engineer at ENPPI, Research Assistant at MIT in the Department of Chemical Engineering, and Etch Process Engineer at IDT.
