Allegra Farrar

Ph.D. Candidate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Aeronautics and Astronautics

Allegra Farrar is an accomplished aerospace engineer and current Masters student at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She studied Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering at The George Washington University before obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin. Farrar has held several impressive positions throughout her academic and professional career, including a Structural Dynamics Intern for the James Webb Space Telescope at Northrop Grumman, Research Assistant at The George Washington University, Summer Internship at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and Undergraduate Research Assistant for the GWSat Project also at The George Washington University. Additionally, she also served as a LLRISE Teacher’s Assistant at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Her research interests are rooted in autonomous solutions for spacecraft entry in uncertain environments. Farrar has been recognized for her academic and professional achievements and is a recipient of the NSF and MIT Presidential Fellowships and a GEM Fellowship.
