    Allan Gutheim

Electronic Composer | Producer | Author | Lecturer

Allan Gutheim is an accomplished Swedish composer, producer, and author, born on November 13, 1962 in Stockholm, Sweden. Gutheim's musical journey began at the tender age of seven when he started playing the piano, but his true passion for composing emerged in the mid-1970s. As a classically trained musician and composer, Gutheim has 15 years of experience in piano, music theory, and composition, and has written music for films, theaters, ballets, art exhibitions, and multimedia productions.

Gutheim's career highlights include being the youngest composer at Elektronmusikstudion(EMS), a Swedish professional studio for electro-acoustic music and sound art, in 1976. He was the main teacher in Music Theory and Digital Music Production at Kulturama for nine years, Sweden's largest school for artistic studies at the post-secondary level. In addition, Gutheim founded Allan Gutheim Music Production in 1988 and built his own studio in Stockholm in 1989-1990, designed by Ingemar Ohlsson, ABBA's studio designer.

Gutheim has authored books on music theory, the Swedish music industry, and is an active lecturer and consultant on the music industry, legal rights, and contracts. He and his wife, Maria, founded Toy World Sweden, an experience museum in 1999, and in 2013, teamed up with Unda Arte, a collaborative art duo, which resulted in "Postmodern Substrata," an exhibition, art portfolio, and music compilation.

In recent years, Gutheim has released several albums on the record label The Sublunar Society, including Sequencer and Waves, in which he found his personal style and signature mix of modern, instrumental, electronic synth music and ambient retro. All of Allan Gutheim's music is produced at Real Time Music Recording Studio and is released by Real Time Music since 2019.
