Growing up in Zimbabwe, Aliyah's early interactions with Barbie dolls ignited her creativity, love for craftsmanship, and interest in analyzing human behavior and interactions. These childhood experiences laid the foundation for her future career in design and marketing.
She pursued a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Studio Art&Design at Santa Clara University, where she was exposed to the tech culture of Silicon Valley, sparking her curiosity in the intersection of technology, culture, and social structures. Aliyah is particularly interested in exploring how technology influences and is influenced by cultural and social experiences.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Aliyah enjoys activities that stimulate her creativity and energy, such as rearranging her living space, playing basketball, dancing, and bonding with her family through shared interests like playing with Barbie and Ken dolls.
Aliyah Marandiz has held various roles in different organizations, including being the Founder of Sugardoh. She has also worked as a Designer and Marketer at Marandiz & Co., as an Associate in Design and Marketing at Jones-Dilworth, Inc. (JDI), as a Marketing/Digital Media Contractor at Kurbo Health, and as a Marketing and Communications Intern at IT'S TIME TEXAS. Furthermore, she has experience as a Research Development Assistant at Omidyar Network, as an Events Manager at Santa Clara University Programming Board, and as a Program Coordinator at Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program.
