Alissa Quart

Alissa Quart is an accomplished American author, journalist, and poet. She is currently the Executive Director of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project, a nonprofit organization focused on covering inequality and economic justice.12 Quart has authored several critically acclaimed nonfiction books, including "Bootstrapped: Liberating Ourselves from the American Dream," "Squeezed," and "Branded".13

Born in 1972, Quart grew up in lower Manhattan and attended Stuyvesant High School.3 She received her BA in English Literature from Brown University and later completed her Master of Science at Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.3
