Alison Baskerville

Alison Baskerville is a multidisciplinary craftsperson and artist based in Baltimore, originally from New York. Her 3D career is built around MLI blanket fabrication for aerospace, technical apparel design, and costuming for theater, all requiring skills in three-dimensional thinking and creation.

Alison's independent practice involves working with unique textiles and unexpected objects to explore dark and heavy narratives while infusing bright colors, encrypted text, and bold silhouettes. Her art is influenced by her quirky teenage interests and current adult perspective.

Alison holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Fiber and Experimental Fashion Design from The Maryland Institute College of Art, along with a certificate in Sneaker Essentials from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Throughout her career, Alison has worked in various roles including Product Development Specialist at Aerothreads, Digital Draftsperson & Maker at SewLab USA, Technical Apparel Designer at Vorbeck, and Thermal Blanket Specialist Intern at Aerothreads.

Additionally, Alison has experience in roles such as Sewing Assistant at Nikki Hendricks LLC, Fashion Designer at Maryland Institute College of Art for both the Experimental Fashion Show and Benefit Fashion Show, Media and Communications Intern at Sherry Wolf, Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Maryland Institute College of Art, Costume Designer at Rivals of the West Theater Company, and Upholstery Designer at Maryland Institute College of Art.
