Alisha Fredriksson

Alisha Fredriksson is the Co-Founder and CEO of Seabound, a London-based climate tech startup focused on developing carbon capture technology for the maritime industry. She co-founded Seabound in 2021, driven by a commitment to combat climate change after being influenced by a 2018 UN report highlighting the urgent need for action against global warming. Under her leadership, Seabound has made significant strides, including securing six letters of intent from major shipowners for its carbon capture devices and successfully testing its first pilot system on a container ship.13

Fredriksson's background includes a diverse range of experiences in climate initiatives and entrepreneurship. Before Seabound, she launched a climate program at Generation, a non-profit organization, and contributed to various startups and social enterprises, including a maritime electro-fuel startup and a climate activist group. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Minerva Schools at KGI and has been recognized for her entrepreneurial efforts, winning the Entrepreneur of the Year award at the 2023 International Tanker Shipping & Trade Conference.1234

Seabound's innovative technology aims to capture up to 95% of CO2 emissions from ships, addressing the significant environmental impact of the shipping industry, which is one of the last sectors facing challenges in decarbonization.3
