Alisa T.

Alisa Tanaka is a multilingual program coordinator with a passion for developing effective programs that satisfy her clients. With her fluency in Japanese, English, Chinese and Spanish, Alisa has worked in several countries including Taiwan, Japan, and Australia. She is currently studying Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese with the goal of adding French and Russian to the list in the future.

Alisa has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communication and Media Studies from Lewis and Clark College, where she also worked as an Academic English Studies classroom assistant, Informational Technology assistant, and Language assistant. She has experience in program management, having successfully planned and executed over 200 educational seminars and learning opportunities for individuals of all ages. With an over 80% satisfaction rate amongst her clients, Alisa is well-versed in effective communication.

As a former English instructor, substitute teacher and tutor, Alisa is well-versed in teaching and communicating with clients from different cultural backgrounds, which has contributed to her >80% booking rate. Her leadership capabilities were also on display during her role as the Marketing Team Lead at a previous organization, where she oversaw a team of three, grew Instagram following by over 30%, and served as the first point of contact for inquiries via social media.

Alisa's career goals center around cross-cultural communication, US-Japan relations, diplomacy, and refugee/immigration resettlement. She is currently an Executive/Marketing Intern at San Diego Diplomacy Council and a Contributing Writer at GenTwenty, where she submits monthly blog entries with minimal editing and no supervision.
