Sail low on the world! @slowmarquesas

Aline Dargie, born in 1991 in Massachusetts, USA, is a sailor, multimedia journalist, and artist with a passion for documenting 'slow' handmade creations.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fiber, Textile, and Weaving Arts from the California College of the Arts and has also pursued studies in Ceramic Arts at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Aline co-founded and directed Make Hang, an atelier in San Francisco that showcased artists creating sculptural installations, offered yoga sessions, DIY art workshops, and slow food dinners for the community.

Since 2013, Aline has been on a sailing journey, accumulating over 15,000 miles in the Pacific, studying astro navigation, and earning a Yachtmaster Offshore certificate from the Royal Yacht Academy. She captained Project Va’a Motu in Fakarava and currently leads Pizza for Project Slow, creating original reportage by sailboat in French Polynesia to inspire adventure travel and showcase local culture.

Her latest venture, Project Slow, focuses on sail low expeditions in French Polynesia, where she writes stories and creates videos to celebrate the unique aspects of the region and its inhabitants.

Aline's dedication to 'slow' living, handmade arts, and sailing adventures shines through her work as a multimedia journalist and artist, capturing the essence of French Polynesia through her lens.
