Alia Salem
2020 Stagen Leadership Fellow in the Audre Lorde Cohort 2019 Roddenberry Fellow
Alia Salem is a renowned community organizer, activist, and speaker with over a decade of experience in community work in the DFW Metroplex. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Facing Abuse in Community Environments (FACE), focusing on institutionalized racism and equitable pluralism. Salem is also a 2020 Stagen Leadership Fellow with the Audre Lorde Cohort and 2019 fellow with the Roddenberry Foundation. She is a published writer and public speaker, having her work featured on prominent outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, CBS, Time, Washington Post, and Buzzfeed. Salem's passion for advocacy and equitable representation is rooted in her academic background and experience, with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a focus on Communications, Sociology, and Religion/Culture from the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition, she has a certificate in Hospitality Management from Cornell University.
