Ali Tehrani

Ali Tehrani is a Fellow at The RSA (The Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) and a prominent figure in the biotechnology sector. He currently serves as a venture partner at Amplitude VC and has been recognized as one of British Columbia's Top 500 Influential Business Leaders by Business in Vancouver.

Career Highlights

• Co-founder of Zymeworks: Ali co-founded this biotechnology company, where he was instrumental in establishing its vision and growth strategy. Under his leadership, Zymeworks advanced multiple protein engineering platforms and developed multi-specific antibody therapeutics that entered clinical trials. The company also went public on the New York Stock Exchange and formed partnerships with major pharmaceutical firms.

• Advisory Roles: After stepping down as president and CEO of Zymeworks, he continued to contribute as an advisor. He has also served on the boards of several Canadian bioscience and industrial research organizations and was a member of British Columbia’s Premier’s Technology Council from 2016 to 2018.
