Volt Lines Founder and CEO / I help organizations in Istanbul reduce their commute carbon footprint and costs with transportation tech. 🚐🍊

Ali Halabi is a Lebanese/Turkish entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Volt Lines, a B2B smart mobility company based in Turkey.12 He was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur at the 90th International Selection Panel in Atlanta, Georgia in September 2019.2

Halabi's entrepreneurial journey began after moving to Turkey in 2013 while working for Procter & Gamble. He left his corporate career a year later to pursue his passion for improving urban mobility and reducing traffic congestion.1 His first venture, Volt, was an on-demand carpooling app that ultimately failed to find product-market fit and was shut down in 2017.2

In November 2017, Halabi founded Volt Lines, which focuses on providing smart shared mobility services for corporate users in Turkey. The company aims to minimize commute carbon emissions by filling empty seats in traffic through shared mobility.2 Volt Lines operates in Istanbul and Ankara, serving thousands of corporate passengers with regular commute Transportation as a Service (TaaS) and irregular commute Demand Responsive Transit (DRT).2

Halabi's entrepreneurial journey has been marked by both successes and challenges. In 2022, Volt Lines was acquired by Swvl in a $65 million deal, but the acquisition was reversed just months later.2 The company's innovative approach to urban mobility has garnered attention, with Harvard Business School featuring Volt Lines' DRT product in a case study.1

Currently, Volt Lines generates approximately $10 million in revenue, serves over 100 corporate customers, and operates 400 buses in Istanbul and Ankara.3 Halabi continues to lead the company as it aims to address the $1.2 billion corporate transfer market opportunity in Istanbul and expand further.3
