Ali Amin Sattar is a seasoned professional with over two decades of diverse experience in start-ups, global corporates, banking, and private equity. He has a strong background in the MENA and South East Asia regions, with particular expertise in Fintech, Payments, and Telecoms domains.

During his career, Ali has excelled in launching and expanding ventures across different regions, customer segments, and product categories. He has a proven track record in areas such as M&A, JVs, strategic alliances, and partnerships, including cross-border and cross-industry deals.

Ali has held various high-level positions throughout his career, including Founder & CEO at SimpliFi, Adviser at Next Billion Advisors, and Founding Limited Partner at Rally Cap Ventures. He has also contributed his expertise as a Startup Adviser and Investor in private practice.

With a solid educational background in Engineering/Industrial Management, Finance, and Economics from Columbia Engineering, Ali brings a unique perspective to the organizations he has been a part of.

Some of his notable roles include Managing Director at Careem PAY focusing on Digital Payments in the MENA region, Head of Strategy (Emerging Markets) at VEON in Telecom and M&A, and Vice President & Head of Fintech (Asia) at Telenor Group in Mobile Financial Services in SEA.

Ali has also served as Chief Strategy Officer and Member of the Management Team at DTAC, where he provided guidance on strategy and transformation. His expertise in Private Equity in the MENA region was demonstrated during his time as a Principal at NBK Capital.

Furthermore, Ali has a solid finance background, having held positions such as Deputy CFO & Director, Business Planning & Analysis at Telenor Pakistan, and various roles at UBS and Deutsche Bank.
