Alfonso Medina, born in Longview, Texas in 1983, is a prominent figure in the real estate and architecture industries with a rich background in innovative housing solutions.
He co-founded Madelon, a startup focusing on the future of housing, where he currently serves as CEO. Additionally, he holds the position of Chairman and CEO at Ikigai Holdings, a real estate holding company that oversees Development, Construction, and Architecture firms in Mexico City and Tijuana.
In 2005, Alfonso established Taller 38, a company specializing in real estate development and construction, successfully completing over 30 housing projects. Subsequently, in 2009, he founded T38 studio, an architecture, design, and research office based in New York City and Tijuana.
Alfonso's influence extends to academia, where he has served as an invited critic at esteemed institutions like the AA, Pratt, UCLA, Columbia, and the Ecole Speciale d’ Architecture in Paris. He has also led architectural design studios at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Tijuana and been a guest critic at SCI-ARC in Los Angeles.
Recognized for his exceptional contributions to the field, Alfonso was honored with the Curbed Young Guns Award in 2013. He boasts an impressive educational background, holding a Master's degree in Design and Research from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC), as well as a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Instituto Tecnólogico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), where he also studied at the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya.
