Alexis Dabney

Alexis Dabney is a K/1 Math Teacher at the Downtown Denver Expeditionary School (DDES), where she is recognized as a founding member of the staff. She holds a Master's degree in Teaching from Dominican University in Chicago, which she earned while serving as a corps member for Teach for America. Dabney's teaching career began in Denver, where she initially taught sixth-grade reading at STRIVE Prep Charter Network before transitioning to her current role in elementary education.12

In addition to her teaching qualifications, Dabney has a diverse background that includes community involvement as the student body vice president at Texas State University, where she played a key role in transitioning the school's athletic program from Division II to Division I. She also has experience working as an assistant to a state representative in Texas, focusing on constituent issues. Before her teaching career, she worked at Eli Lilly in Houston.1
