Reading Specialist
Alexandra Jansen is a highly accomplished educator who has dedicated her career to supporting students in their reading and language arts skills. She has completed her undergraduate education in Spanish and International Studies from Davidson College and her Masters in Teaching Reading from the University of San Francisco. Additionally, Alexandra has undergone training in various reading and writing programs such as Lindamood Bell, Words Their Way, Houghton Mifflin Language Arts “Journeys,” Guided Reading, and Handwriting Without Tears. Throughout her career, she has worked as a Reading Specialist, 1st Grade Teacher, Summer Intervention Teacher/ Coordinator of Teacher Development, Teacher at Summerbridge, San Francisco Day School, 2nd Grade Teacher at St. Peter's School, 5th Grade Student Teacher at Claire Lilllienthal School, and 2nd Grade Teacher at St. Matthew's School. Alexandra uses research-based instruction techniques to provide individualized reading and language arts programs to her students. She collaborates with teachers and parents to ensure her methods meet the needs of her students based on various assessments.
