    Alexandra Glazier, known as Alex, is the President and CEO of New England Donor Services (NEDS), formed in 2017 through an affiliation between two Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) serving a population of 14 million people in a six-state area.

    Under Alex's leadership, NEDS witnessed a 108% increase in organ transplants within the lower performing OPO service area, demonstrating a significant impact.

    In January 1, 2021, Alex oversaw the successful merger of the two OPOs under NEDS, marking the first OPO consolidation in decades.

    NEDS, under Alex's direction, operates with 270 employees and a notable annual budget of $95 million, earning accolades such as Modern Healthcare Best Places to Work 2018 and being recognized as a Top 100 Female-Run Business by reputable institutions like the Boston Globe and The Commonwealth Institute in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

    Apart from her role at NEDS, Alex holds a prominent position as the Region 1 Councillor on the OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors. She also chairs the Policy Oversight Committee, driving national organ policy development strategies.

    Alex's extensive involvement in the organ transplant community includes past service on various committees such as the Membership and Professional Standards Committee, Ethics Committee, and multiple appointments to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Advisory Committee on Organ Transplantation (ACOT).

    Additionally, Alex contributes her expertise to organizations like the American Society of Reconstructive Transplant (ASRT) and Donate Life America, where she played a crucial role in a collaboration with Apple to facilitate donor registration through iPhones.

    Before her current role, Alex served as the CEO of New England Organ Bank, transitioning from her initial position as General Counsel. She began her career delving into health law at Ropes & Gray, after obtaining an undergraduate degree in bioethics from Brown University and completing a JD-MPH program at Boston University.

    Her academic background includes a JD from Boston University School of Law, an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health, and a B.A. from Brown University.

    Alex's career has been marked by a dedication to advancing organ donation and transplantation, leading through various executive and advisory roles within the healthcare and legal sectors.
