Alexander Zemlyak

Alexander Zemlyak is a Principal at Geek Ventures, a venture capital firm based in New York that focuses on investing in innovative startups, particularly those founded by immigrants. He joined Geek Ventures in August 2023, where his responsibilities include deal sourcing and supporting portfolio companies.123

Before his current role, Zemlyak was the Principal and Head of Israel at Leta Capital, where he led investments in late-seed and Series A tech startups globally, with a strong emphasis on Israel and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) markets. His prior experience also includes serving as a Board Member at Qmarkets, an enterprise idea and innovation management platform, and working at Magical Capital, a late-stage venture capital and private equity firm.124

Zemlyak's career spans over eight years in venture capital and investment, having held various roles in organizations such as Founders Factory in London and PROF-IT Ventures in Israel. He has a background in international economics, which supports his expertise in investment analysis and market research.14
