Alexander Winslow
Alexander Winslow is a highly experienced and accomplished tennis professional, with over 20 years of experience coaching players of all ages and skill levels. He is a U.S.P.T.A.-certified teaching professional, and his Winslow Tennis Academy offers training in stroke technique, fitness and agility, Ten-And-Under Tennis (TAUT), seniors league, point tactics, doubles strategy and clinics, mental approach, and team coaching. Winslow is passionate about providing a highly positive experience for his students, especially the young ones in the TAUT program, where age-appropriate rackets and balls and skill-based games are used to help build stroke mechanics and mental skills while boosting their confidence.
Before founding his tennis academy, Winslow had impressive accomplishments as a nationally ranked junior player from 1978 to 1982 and as a starting member of the Varsity Tennis Team at San Jose State University from 1982 to 1984. He also ranked No. 1 in the Men's 30-and-over division of the Mid-Atlantic Tennis Association in 1994. Moreover, Winslow has been a triathlete, a marathoner, and a Tough Mudder participant.
Winslow is also an accomplished professional with diverse interests outside of tennis. He studied a Master of Public Policy and Administration at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and worked as a consultant for the Climate Bay Area initiative, where he applied his expertise in environmental protection and sustainability. Winslow also founded and managed Climate Change Update, a resourceful blog for climate change information. Additionally, he held leadership positions in marketing and communications for organizations such as Scientific Certification Systems, California Parent Teacher Association, Safeway, Bechtel, and Bay Area Council.
