Alexander Virilin
Network Engineer at Facebook
Alexander Virilin is a seasoned professional with over ten years of expertise in network technologies. With a diverse background spanning from robotics and mechatronics systems to network infrastructure, Virilin has become a respected member of the technical community. He studied at both Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) Business School, and Bauman Moscow State Technical University, where he earned his incomplete master's degree in International Business and Strategy and his Engineer's Degree in Robotics and Mechatronics Systems, respectively.
Virilin's career began at the Research Institute of special machinery, where he developed underwater robotic systems. Afterward, he worked as a Technical Support Engineer at a Telecommunication Company, a Network Engineer at NETBYNET Holding, and subsequently at Yandex as a Network Engineer and later as the Head of Network Infrastructure for Yandex Cloud.
During his time at Yandex, Virilin gave a talk on MPLS in Data Center Fabrics at the NANOG 77 meeting. He recently transitioned to Facebook as a Network Engineer, where he continues to contribute to the ever-evolving technical infrastructure.
