Alexander Marks

Alexander Marks is a distinguished professional with a strong background in environmental change, water resources management, and policy development.

He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Change & Management from the University of Oxford, a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Arts in water resources management, built environment, political science with Honours (First Class) from the University of Adelaide, and studied Political Science at UC Santa Barbara.

Currently, Alexander serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Allume Energy, a company focused on making solar electricity accessible to apartment residents and SMEs in retail and commercial spaces.

Alexander has previously held key roles at Allume Energy including Business Development Lead and Lead of Policy & Regulatory. He has also worked as a Research Associate at the Centre for Policy Development and as a Policy Adviser at the Parliament of Victoria.

His vast experience extends to international organizations such as the Australian Agency for International Development where he held roles such as Second Secretary of Water & Infrastructure and Program Officer for Forest Carbon and Biodiversity.

Alexander has also worked in civil and environmental engineering at Connell Wagner (now Aurecon) and has had exposure to policy-making through roles like Policy Officer at the Australian Agency for International Development and Policy & Advocacy Manager at Sanergy.

His internship at the Office of Congresswoman Barbara Lee in the US Congress highlights his interest in political processes and governance.
