Alexander Drew is a dedicated scientist who specializes in the genetic basis of rare inherited diseases, striving to bridge the gap between research and clinical applications. With a strong educational background in both biological and computer sciences, Alexander holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human/Medical Genetics from the University of Sydney, a Bachelor of Science Honours in Animal Virology and Genetics from Western Sydney University, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biological Sciences, also from Western Sydney University.
Alexander's professional journey has seen him hold key positions in renowned institutions. Currently serving as a Senior Research Officer at Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Alexander has previously held the same role within the organization. Additionally, he has also worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ANZAC Research Institute, a Practical course supervisor and casual lecturer in Human Genetics at Western Sydney University, a Research Assistant at ANZAC Research Institute, and a Technical Assistant at Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute - Virology. His expertise and experience span across various areas within the field of genetics and bioinformatics.
