Alexa von Tobel

Alexa von Tobel is a prominent entrepreneur and investor, best known as the founder and managing partner of Inspired Capital, a venture capital firm she established in 2019. Under her leadership, Inspired Capital has raised approximately $900 million across three funds, focusing on early-stage investments in various sectors, including fintech and generative AI.14

Before founding Inspired Capital, von Tobel created LearnVest in 2008, a personal finance platform aimed at making financial advice more accessible. LearnVest raised nearly $75 million in venture capital and was acquired by Northwestern Mutual in 2015 for $375 million, marking one of the largest acquisitions in the fintech space at that time. After the acquisition, she served as Northwestern Mutual's Chief Digital Officer and Chief Innovation Officer, where she played a key role in integrating LearnVest's services into the company's offerings.124

Von Tobel holds a B.A. in Psychology from Harvard College and has been recognized with numerous accolades, including features in Forbes' "30 Under 30" and Fortune's "Most Powerful Women" lists. She is also a New York Times bestselling author, having published Financially Fearless and Financially Forward.
