Alex Worker
Helping grow food ideas
Alex Worker, a New Zealander with a diverse international background in food, ventures, and agriculture, currently serves as the Country Manager for Impossible Foods Aotearoa New Zealand.
Aside from his role at Impossible Foods, Alex chairs Future Food Aotearoa, a not-for-profit organization aimed at driving progress within New Zealand's foodtech ecosystem. He also actively participates in steering committees such as Te Hono and MPI F&B ITP.
With over a decade of corporate management experience, Alex has worked extensively with Fonterra, New Zealand's largest company. Having been born in Hong Kong and residing in Asia for fifteen years, he has contributed to the growth of early-stage ventures and provided advisory services to various food companies and e-commerce platforms. Alex is also engaged in two New Zealand food ventures, LILO Desserts and NewFish.
Alex's educational background is both extensive and impressive, including completing an Executive Leadership Program at THNK School of Creative Leadership, an MBA at Tsinghua University-MIT on a Rotary Ambassadorial and Chinese Government Scholarship, and a BCom(Hons) from the University of Auckland, among other qualifications.
He has actively contributed to several organizations and initiatives, holding positions such as Advisory Group Member at the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), Director/Venture Partner at LILO Desserts and NewFish, Chair at Future Food Aotearoa, and Managing Director at Highground Brands.
Moreover, Alex is a member of Class 15 at THNK School Amsterdam, participated in the World Economic Forum as a Global Shaper, and has a passion for mentoring startups.
