Alex Waters is a highly-experienced policy advisor in various organizations that have dealt with scientific and technical issues. His early education began when he studied A Levels at Gravesend Grammar School before taking up BSc in Chemistry and eventually obtaining his DPhil in Organic Chemistry featured at the University of Sussex. He has served as a policy advisor at the Cabinet Office, private secretary at the UK Ministry of Defence, and also worked as an operational policy adviser and material scientist at the UK Ministry of Defence. His expertise led him to become the lead for the EdTech policy and ICT Advisor, Policy and Strategy of the Department for Education. Currently, he focuses on digital and cyber policy as well as education.
