I am a first year PhD student interested in the applications of machine learning, specifically deep learning, to natural language processing. My advisers are Kyunghyung Cho and Sam Bowman.

Researcher with Professor Yaron Singer. I explored a number of techniques for attacking image recognition systems based on adversarial machine learning. Work is still ongoing.

Research intern with Professor Jure Leskovec through the Stanford Center for the Study of Language and Information. I explored the use of recurrent neural networks in automatically learning descriptors for the different types of social interactions in online communities, such as Reddit, based off user comments. This work was published as "Learning Linguistic Descriptors for User Behavior in Online Communities" to NLP+CSS workshop at EMNLP 2016, with Will Hamilton.

Teaching fellow for the CS 136: Economics and Computation, a course on the intersection between economics and computer science. Duties involved preparing and teaching material in discussion sections, writing and solving problem set questions, holding office hours, and advising student projects.

Teaching Fellow

Student researcher working with Professor Alexander Rush and his research group, Harvard Natural Language Processing. I worked on a number of projects applying deep learning to natural language processing. I started by implementing start-of-the-art language models, such as LSTMs and character-level models, in the Lua library Torch. I also created an abstractive neural document summarizer. For my senior thesis, I investigated the ability of matching networks, a type of neural network, to perform one-shot learning on various tasks and under different settings.
