Alex Thibodeau

Alex Thibodeau is a skilled attorney with a focus on data privacy and emerging technologies in mobility. His extensive background encompasses civil litigation, telecommunication, municipal/administrative law, utility franchise agreements, and regulatory compliance.

Currently, Alex holds key leadership roles including Chair for the Grand Rapids Bar Association's Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, immediate past-President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, and Advisory Council Member of the Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He also contributes as a Board of Trustees member for the Grand Rapids Art Museum.

During his time at law school, Alex showcased his leadership abilities as Chair of the Student Bar Association. He also demonstrated his editorial skills as part of the Indiana Journal of Constitutional Design and the Indiana Journal of Social Equality. Additionally, he worked with the Center for Constitutional Democracy on international reform projects. Before embarking on his legal career, Alex gained experience as a consultant in Healthcare Technology and as a radio correspondent for an NPR affiliate station.

Alex Thibodeau's educational journey includes a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, a BA in Political Science and Journalism from DePaul University, and high school studies at Detroit Catholic Central High School.

With a diverse array of professional experiences, Alex has contributed his legal expertise at Varnum LLP as an Attorney and previously at Foster Swift Collins & Smith, PC. He has also held roles such as a Summer Associate at Foster Swift Collins & Smith, PC, Milton Stewart Fellowship in New Delhi at The Law Offices of Gaurav Pachnanda, and a Judicial Intern at the Michigan Supreme Court. Notably, he has also been involved in various capacities ranging from Healthcare Analyst at Upp Technology, Inc. to On-Air Contributor at Chicago Public Media, showcasing his multifaceted skill set.
