Alex Robertson

Alex Robertson is currently the Engineering Program Manager for Product Design at Apple, a position he has held since April 2023, based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. His career prior to Apple includes significant experience at Abbott, where he served in various engineering roles, culminating as an Engineering Manager and Program Manager from May 2021 to April 2023. During his tenure at Abbott, he led cross-functional teams in the development of medical devices, including a handheld IoT device for health tracking and an implantable cardiac monitor product line, receiving accolades such as the President’s Award for outstanding contributions.12

Education and Certifications

Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University. Additionally, he completed an MBA with a specialization in Finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management between 2018 and 2021. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer, certified by NCEES since October 2016.1

Skills and Contributions

Throughout his career, Alex has demonstrated expertise in project management, product development, and mechanical engineering. He has generated numerous design concepts and led the final design selection process, achieving significant performance improvements and cost reductions in product designs. His work has resulted in multiple technology patents and he has managed complex projects from ideation through to production, ensuring stakeholder alignment and effective communication.12
