Alex Mateo is a professional photographer based in the NY/NJ area, with a focus on personal and corporate portraiture, sports, advertising, live music, and event coverage, among other areas. He has over 11 years of experience in the field, with 7 1/2 of those years spent working professionally, where he has developed a particular expertise in creating new lighting concepts for portraits, fashion, glamour, and lifestyle shots. Mateo studied at the Community College Of The Air Force, the Parsons School of Design, and New York University, earning an AA in Computer Information Systems, studying photography, film, and video editing, and receiving a certificate in Web Development. Mateo has worked with various organizations, including MPA, World Entertainment News Network, The Source Magazine, Ebony Magazine, and the City of New York, among others. Before becoming a photographer, he was a Lead Security Screener - Helpdesk Supervisor at TSA and worked as a Supply Management Journeyman - Network Administrator with the United States Air Force.
